A full-bodied stout that gets its smoothness from the oat addition. The oats also give the stout a nice sweetness that makes this stout easy drinking.

Pours black with a dark brown head. Tastes a bit bitter, and somewhat like a creamy version of a Guiness beer. Feel was a bit watery lacking in pizazz of a stout.

Appears translucent brown-black with decent head. Tastes like a darker creamier Guinness, with more chocolate notes. Overall, not fantastic, but quite good and the brewery is 15 Minutes from my house. Increasingly proud of their output.

Draft offering at the spring house taproom. The brew pours black in color with an aggressive dark brown head that rests atop with solid retention.
The aroma is roasty with a char note to the grain and some earthiness. There is a mild citrus hop aspect that comes out as it warms up.
The taste is bitter bakers chocolate with solid earthen and roasty qualities that impart a bitterness coming more from the kiln of the grain than hops. Having said that, there is a slight citrus hop element present to contrast the roast.
This is a medium to light bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. The overall notion of using oats to thicken up the feel didnt do much for this brew. It also disnt impart a fresh grain quality like others in the style. For the most part, this beer is like a stripped down version of big/lil gruesome.
