This is how we make... Blonde Ale
This beer has a deep yellow color, a very subtle hazy appearance and a white, fine, persistent head. Its delicate scents are a perfect example of balance between the fruity, herbaceous and malty components, and give it a light aroma that invites you to drink.
A sip of Nazionale reveals a little masterpiece of connections between individual tastes. Its notes of chamomile and citrus fruits, balanced out by the gentle bitterness of Italian hops - grown and harvested on Baladin’s own hop fields - make it simply complex. A clean beer that is easy to drink and will satisfy those who want to drink well, with no compromise.
100% ITALIAN CRAFT BEER
Baladin is committed to supporting Italian agricultural products. Nazionale is made with:
Water from the Maritime Alps
Barley malt from our fields in Basilicata and Apulia - Italy
Hops from our fields in Piozzo and Busca (Piedmont) – Italy
Spices from central and southern Italy
Yeast grown at the brewery in Piozzo (Piedmont) - Italy
Ingredients: Water, malt of barley from our fields, Italian hops, mix of spices and citrus zest in variable proportions, sugar, yeast.

From a bottle with a stamp of 099/220-5. Sampled April 30, 2023.
The pour is a slight cloudy orange-amber under a long lasting white foamy head. Lots of lacing.
On the nose, I get biscuits, apricot, yeast, but mainly coriander and Belgian spices.
Soft medium mouthfeel.
The taste is sweet and bready with a nice dose of herbs at the end. Reasonably clean finish. Fairly easy to drink if you like those spices.

11.2oz bottle coded 040/250-3 poured into a teku glass at fridge temp 6.5% ABV. The beer pours somewhat bright in an orange amber color with off white head. The head recedes to a thin ring and island leaving a few tiny spots of lacing. The aroma is mild with sweet pale malt and vague spice and orchard fruit. The taste is more semisweet pale malt with clove, bubblegum and maybe coriander? all mingled up. Very mild finishing bitterness. The feel is medium bodied with average carbonation and a semi dry finish. The label claims bottle conditioning and it's apparent in the softness and smoothness. Overall, very good Belgian pale from Italy.

I loved this brewery when we lived in Italy. Unfortunately, it is hard to find in the Midwest. This beer is from a small 33 cl bottle. It is a bright golden color, clear, with a tall white head. Beautiful. The aroma is spicy and earthy with a light underripe fruit note. The taste has a characteristic Belgian flavor along with a soft malt quality. Medium body and really flavorful. Nice.

From a cellar temperature 330ml bottle dated 09/2025. Poured int a tulip. A two finger off white head on a clear gold. Good head retention. A thin layer that persists to the end. Sheets of clingy fine lacing.
Spice in the nose. Tastes spicy up front. Clove and orange. An almost imperceptibly bitter finish.
Very smooth. A medium/light body and moderate carbonation. Overall and outstanding and interesting Belgian Pale Ale. The spicy and floral notes and smooth body set it apart. Well worth a try.

Appearance: From a delightfully unique shaped bottle into a glass at an Italian restaurant in NYC. The bottle has a small but fun and artsy label. Pours a slightly hazy deep yellow gold. Minimal foam, but the leftover little bubbles did cling a little bit.
Aroma and Taste: Light grains with cloves and coriander. White bread and yeast. Fruity esters. All very well balanced and pleasant.
Feel: Creamy, medium body with good carbonation. A little bit of dryness.
Overall: Very well balanced in flavor and feel. Calling it a blonde ale is definitely a little odd though.
Pairing: The beer was predictably not matched well with a red sauce Italian pasta dish, but it wasn't necessarily a bad paring either. A white sauce or olive oil pasta entree would likely be perfect.
