Pint at Beachwood BBQ last night for $5.50, went on right when we ordered dinner and I could not resist a new brew, Gabe had not even tried it before
A-Medium brown color with an evident brown tint, 3/4 inch nice creamy vanilla colored head that lasted a few minutes, decent retention, some lacing
S-Hoppiness first, pine mostly, also lots of citrus though, caramel is definitely there, sweet malts later on, various fruits, and earthiness
T-Flavor is complex and strong, hops help balance out everything else that is going on, starts with pine, mix of fruits and malt in the middle, then citrus and dry accents in the finish, gets more fruity as time goes on, still dry once it warms though which is nice, malts were both toasted and sweet due to the caramel and breadiness, which also helped the flavor profile out, quite enjoyable
M-Dry, slightly sweet, and malty mouthfeel, medium to full bodied, nice popping level of carbonation, taste lingers nicely due to the bitterness
D-Could have drank a few pints, alcohol was hidden well even though ABV is above eight percent, smooth and light on the stomach, went down easy with dinner
First beer from this brewery and now I wish I would have stopped there when I was up north a few weeks ago, this was a suprisingly good representation of the style with a large reliance on hops for once, would drink again, tasted great with the ribs my dad and I shared, recommended
