Shared at a brew club meeting. Somebody snagged it from a commercial competition.
A - Dark brown, with a 1 fingered head, and some nice lacing.
S - Light alcohol and molasses.
T - Brown sugar, molasses, and light alcohol.
M - Very smooth, very filling. No alcohol in the mouthfeel.
D - Good, but let it mellow out for one more year.

On draft at the brewpub. Pours a rich crimson with a short tannish white head. Served in a 9oz. snifter, which I think is perfect for the style. Looks heavy and rich. Sweet malt and fake cherry odor, also some strawberries in there too, and ethanol. Flavor is a rich, sweet caramel malt. Cherries too, quite bitter and tart. A little astringent. Cherry flavor becomes a bit cough-syrup-like and over-the-top sweet. Mouthfeel is syrupy, which only adds to the cough syrup sensation. Meh, it started out promising, but its not exactly what I look for in a good barleywine.
