not quite as complex or nuanced as some of the other beers i have had from these guys, but kind of on par with the framboise, which is to say well done and delicious, but on the sweeter side and a little less yeast driven than their beers that i like the best, but a fun one to try. pretty blood red color with excellent clarity from the bottle. a short airy head rises and disappears before too long. it smells like cherries of all kinds, sweet and cooked, tart and pie-like and really pretty juicy and sweet, like a concentrated juice thing you would mix with water in equal parts, a little bit like cherry candy too, its hard to smell it and think whole fruit, its sweeter than i am use to, but its very appealing. the flavor is like that too, and while it could be fermented down a little drier, i think the intensity of the fruit is nice, i just wouldnt want much more than a glass of it, a sort of after dinner or afternoon drink, but the high level champagne type carbonation really is nice in here, needed. not necessarily the kind of fruit beer i normally reach for, but it tastes great and its hard to argue the quality objectively speaking. well made stuff, cherry jolly rancher meets very light grain and simple ale yeast. if you like them a little sweet and less funky, seek this one out.
