Pours a reddish-brown color with a minimalistic head. Nose is raspberry and roast malt. Taste is sweet raspberry puree, malt, and a dash of peppery hops on the back end. Medium body and medium carbonation.
A nice seasonal from Santa Fe, and definitely better than Adobe Igloo. A lot of raspberry comes through and makes it pretty sweet. More enjoyable than it sounds.

Pours a deep dark red with a pillow, off-white head and big combination.
Smells of red raspberries, chocolate and malt. Almost a kool-aid effect.
Taste of raspberries and good bakers chocolate and caramel malt. Not bad

Picked this up on a recent work trip to Albuquerque. Probably spent way too much money at a Trader Joe’s and at Jubilation Wine & Spirits. Surprisingly I had reviewed five Santa Fe Brewing beers before (now six after 7K IPA), ranging from a 3.29 (Happy Camper IPA) to a 4.27 (Chicken Killer Barley Wine) (#BiL). Description read, “When grain and yeast love each other very much, a beer is born. When you add some raspberries, things get a little freaky-deaky and you end up with this. Lustgarten is a dark lager that has toast and chocolate notes with just a subtle hint of raspberry. The perfect beer to split with someone special. Or the perfect beer to split with absolutely no one since it’s just a 12 ounce can and will only be around for a limited time.” I’m a sucker for raspberry beers, so was really looking forward to this.

Poured a dark brown opaque color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy khaki head. Slow bubbles creeping up along the sides of the glass. Excellent spiderweb foamy lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.50)

Smelled toast, chocolate and raspberries up front. Also charred coffee notes, white chocolate, plum, dark fruit, burnt toast and cocoa. Somehow didn’t quite work for me. More char wood and smoky ashtray from the can. (Smell - 3.50)

Tasted better than the nose for sure. Those raspberry flavors really shine through up front. Also white chocolate, roasted coffee malts, char wood, burnt toast, cacao, plum, dark fruit and ashtray. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long finish. (Feel - 4.00)

Really grew on me. Outstanding. (Overall - 4.00)

Yet another pickup from HEB on a whim.

Comes in a dazzling brown-and-red can that gives you an idea of its flavor. I poured this into my usual Mewtwo glass, and it was quite dark, much darker than I expected anyway. Barely any head to speak of. The main scent was actually closer to white chocolate, and the taste was overwhelmingly that with, as the can says, raspberry. I'm giving this a higher rating because, while this is hardly a beer in terms of taste, I do like sweeter stuff every now and then, and this delivers what it advertises. The mouthfeel is super creamy, thanks to the chocolate tastes.

So yeah this stuff is really different and out there, but it makes possibly the best "dessert" beer I've ever had. I'm feeling lusty.

Not always a fan of fruit beers, I was unsure of this one. It pours a cola-like brown color with a thin and fizzy head. The aroma of dark malt, almost coffee-like, with ripe raspberries. Dark fruit notes. The taste is semi-dry with a lot of fruit and malt flavor. Richer than expected, and more full in body. Interesting and better than expected.

Pours a deep brown with red hints and a reddish-brown head. Smells of raspberries, roasted malts, and chocolate. Tastes of sweet and fresh raspberries, some hints of roasted malt, some sweetness, toast, and light chocolate. Medium-light body and carbonation. Overall a very pleasant dark lager.
