12oz can poured into Duvel tulip. Picked up from the grocery store as part of a $10 sixer mixer during the coronavirus pandemic. BEST BEFORE 06/19/20 printed on bottom rim of can, though it might be smudged. That would be another 11 days of optimal freshness.
Appearance - Hazy straw body with defined lines from swirling particulate cloudiness. Small one finger white head with decent lace and ok stick. The dark cloud particulate clouds make me think this beer is either infected or just has a lot of yeast sediment. Creepy. 2.75
Smell - Cardboard. Just straight cardboard. Maybe a very faint honey sweetness but it's just cardboard, really. 2.75
Taste - Ooh this beer actually has character. And it's not bad. I was afraid it would either be infected or bland and it's neither. It has a nice belgian quality to it. Like a tripel. Just saw it's a Belgian Saison so yeah that makes perfect sense. Taste is just fine, not off qualities. Has that nice alcohol but complex brisk belgian sweet hoppy bite. That's a lot of words in a row but it makes sense when you drink it. 4
Mouthfeel - Good. No off qualities. 4
Overall - Good. No off qualities. 4

On tap. Poured a slightly cloudy, golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of citrus, lemon, sweet caramel and floral notes. Sweet fruitiness with caramel and a spicy bitterness.

A little on the sweet side to be a sessionable saison. Probably from the agave. Big fan of Sante Fe Brewing though - wish the Black IPA would come back.
