Pours clear copper in color with minimal head. Taste is sandalwood, caramel and pale malt. Medium bodied and carbonation slightly bitter. One of the better Marshall Wharf beers I have had recently.

A: Pours a mahogany color with 2+ fingers of head that slowly fades down to a decently sized cap that lasts for a good while
S: Ringwood yeast and buttery notes up front, along with a decent malt backing and some earthiness
T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the ringwood yeast, which imparts some buttery notes as well as a light fruitiness. Some bitterness comes through as well, seemingly also coming from products from the yeast. Woody notes and maltiness back things up, providing a nice base. Finishes with lingering bitterness and wood notes
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation
O: A nice English-style ESB with the ringwood leading the way. A touch heavy on the diacetyl, but nothing overwhelming. One of the more difficult styles to pull off well, but I think this is a nice example

16 oz can was poured into a nonic glass.
Appearance: A one finger off white head was poured that reduced to a puffy layer. It is an amber copper color with good clarity and vision of bubbles coming up through the glass. Frothy lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.
Smell: Toasted, grainy, bready, oats, some sweetness.
Taste: Same as above. Chewy and burnt malts with some grassy, sweet, and bitter notes in the rear.
Mouthfeel: Chewy, bitter, light bodied, medium carbonation, and a little grainy.
Overall: An enjoyable ESB. Good down to the last sip.
