Attractive dark brown-mahogany beer in the tall tulip with a nice head.
A faint memory of the chocolate Easter bunny. Kind of a modest milk chocolate flavor in a lighter sort of dark. Sprightly rather than sweet. Nice range of roasted barley. More toasted than blackened, and it has a smooth malty flavor enlivened with a good dose of hops. Not much aroma. A winey mouthfeel, some citrus tartness. More subtle than many flavored beers.
Overall a very interesting take on the Porter style. Thoroughly drinkable and among the best dark beers I've had lately. On tap at Local Habit in San Diego.
