Copper in color with a white head that dissipated very quickly, leaving no lacing on the glass. The aroma was mainly bready and caramel malt, with yeast, and hints of apricot. The bready and caramel malts dominated the flavor, but light spicy hop notes where present. In the middle, a nice malt sweetness came through. Roler Bock is light to medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a creamy mouth feel. It had little bitterness throughout and finished with light caramel malt sweetness. The 7.2% ABV was not noticeable.
I don't have a lot of experience with Maibocks but I enjoyed Roler Bock. If you like malt-forward beers, keep an eye out for it when it comes out next spring.
