Growler filled at the brweery in Bay Shore during the summer months. Review is from copious notes.
Pours heavily clouded yellowy under a soft and fluffy off white head. Ample fine lacing.
Orange infused sniff, with a floral note as well.
Fruity, fresh and flavorful. More orange, some coriander and fruit filled sweetness. Moderate hopping late and in the rear to provide some balance. Delicate pepper also adding to the mix.
Decent stuff and nice to see GSB branching out to some new styles for the summer

Pours a bright golden straw color, quite hazy. The pure white head is fluffy and settles down to a light cap.
Nice yeasty aroma. Clove and wild flowers mix with some general medicinal notes. Candi sugar helps add to this bright aroma. Quite nice.
The taste is of a bready pale malt. Not quite as crisp as a traditional saison as the pilsner malt is mixed with wheat. The wheat really gives this some body and smooths out the malt. The yeast doesn't stand out as much as it did in the aroma but does add some nice Belgian notes. Medicinal notes with some clove and bubblegum. Lively sweetness from the candi sugar.
The feel is substantial for a saison, not quite as light and crisp. The ABV is low-ish which is appreciated especially for a style that I like to session if possible. Nice balance.
An enjoyable saison. I think the wheat mutes the yeast flavors a tad and adds more body than I prefer for the style. Good brew that you can have a few of.
