From a bottle produced 4/9/24. Old, but we'll see how it held up. Clear golden color with foamy white head. Strong grassy and floral hop aroma. Light body with good carbonation. Light malt, floral hops and a tart lychee note. Pretty good pale ale with some character.

A nice beer to find in Korea! Well rounded with great aroma and perfectly fitting the American pale ale style. That being said, if it could crisp up a little bit of its malt, thick mouthfeel, it would be ranked a bit higher in my book

An unexpected find at a nearby Asian grocery store.
L- It's mid-amber (I specifically mean amber and not golden). Clear, pours with a 3mm white head that's holding up well.
S- It definitely reminds me of the citrus+perfumed notes of modern US pale ales. Over in that blended citrus+lychee zone. This could go either way for me, not being born to this style.
T- The taste follows the smell, it's hipster, contemporary tasting hops that bring a light touch of fruity sourness. Thankfully it's not like some of the style I had from the US which bludgeon my palate to death with OTT hopping. Perhaps unsurprisingly as most east Asians have the genetic predisposition ('the bitter gene') to finding prominent bitterness literally physically intolerable.
F- ... so this comes over as an entirely comtemporarily hopped US Pale, just it's done with some subtlety which for me means I enjoy it more than a US equiv.
O- I wouldn't buy it again as the style isn't my thing, but if it were and I was old enough to value crafting balance and subtlety over bludgeoning brews then this might come as a pleasant surprise to discover.
Not cheap at £3.20/330ml bottle, as a specialist import, hence I'm unlikely to buy it again. Bottled: 7/11/2019. From: Oriental City, 26 Queensway, London W2.
The rear lable has a tiny 'B' logo on it and 'In partnership with Brooklyn Brewery' !
