Notes of 27/02/08. Tasted by a half-pint at the Devonshire Cat, Sheffield. Sparkler poured in a straight glass.
A: bright red-ish copper, great clarity, dark beige creamy/milky froth with good retention, on top of low carbonation. Beautiful~~
S: caramelised sugar, crystal malts, Fuggle's aromatic hoppiness... Very fruity and burned-malty.
T: incredibly delicious in its fruitiness, featuring apples, berry-jam, oranges, added with a milder tinge of autumn fruits; fruits settle down slowly with a quietly intensifying hop bitter aftertaste, where citrus zests and tea-leafy tannins precede even more burned maltiness, until the syrupy finish.
M&D: refreshing in terms of texture, med-bodied, clean, and overall very hoppy! All in all, a balanced and decent Premium Bitter.
