Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy, medium coppery amber with a fine half finger white head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of citrus hops, bready, slightly caramel malt, orange family citrus, as advertised. Flavor is neutral malt, citrus hops, lemon and tangerine juice with some quite authentic fresh tangerine flavor. Finishes with citrus rind bitterness and lingering grassy and citrus hops. Quite nice medium body with moderate creaminess; good mouth feel. Delivers the tangerine and citrus hops it promises, with robust, but not powerful hop bitterness and great fresh tangerine flavor. The malt is somewhat nondescript and although is has a pleasant mouth feel, adds little to the flavor. A well done tangerine forward IPA, but somewhat one dimensional. Another unexpectedly tasty beer in the Bartell Drugs collaboration series. If someone had told me three years ago that I would make sure I never missed a drug store branded beer, I wouldn't have believed it, but it's true. Bartells has teamed up with great local breweries and created a worthy series. Thanks Bartells.
