Poured from 12oz can into a dimpled mug. This can bills itself as "Southern Resident Killer Whale Chinook Hop IPA". No date on the can.
Appearance: rich golden hue with plenty of haze and a thick finger of frothy ivory foam atop. Looking good!
Smell: sweet malt with an earthy, piney, and citrusy hop aroma. It's not precisely juicy, but it's entering that territory. It's growing on me!
Taste: again, malt is a bit on the sweet side, with an earthy, citrusy, almost-juicy flavor. There's this kind of mustiness at the end that I associate with wet hops, and while I would not normally consider this a positive, it brings out a certain dankness in this beer. Interesting.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: this is an interesting beer, for sure. The weird mustiness is working for me today, but I'd acknowledge it's not for everyone.
