NOTE: Although this beer is named Imperial Amber it is an IPA. The brewer submitted his paperwork before the beer was finished and the beer turned out differently than he expected. He admits that if he did it again he would label this an IPA, so there may be a name change coming.

Served in straight pint glass. The beer poured a coppery-amber color with less than an inch of off-white head that dissipated quickly leaving minimal lacing.

The first thing that hits you in the nose is a strong piney hop aroma. Behind that there is some citrus hop, a slight malt scent and finally a bitter hop smell. The taste takes you down the trail blazed by the aroma. There is slightly more of a malt foundation than the scent indicated, but all those hop flavors are solidly present.

A good, medium body mouthfeel. Perhaps because he was aiming for an amber, and thus is maltier than a lot of IPAs, I find this to be a very drinkable brew. I see several more in my future.

Overall, an interesting beer, worth trying when you're in the Seattle area.
