473 mL can from the LCBO; dated 2020/07/09 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a clear pale yellow colour, producing half an inch of soapy white foam that disintegrates within a minute or two. A thin collar is the only remnant of note, unless you count the wisps of film on the surface. Not a whole lot to say about the nose - hints of cereal grain sweetness are all I'm really getting off the glass, though the lime zest is a little easier to notice if you sniff directly from the can.

It's a perfectly serviceable light beer - straightforward for sure, but that generally comes with the style. I'm tasting clean, grainy pale malt and cereal sweetness, with just a hint of lime zest - and that's really it, with those flavours carrying on through the finish, fading into an aftertaste of citrus rind and sea salt. Light in body, with zippy carbonation that feels prickly on the tongue, resulting in a crisp, active mouthfeel. A fine session lager that I could easily drink one after another on a hot summer afternoon - or even a dreary November night.

Final Grade: 3.51, a B. Railway City's Train Reaction is better than any of the macro light lime beers. Firstly, the lime doesn't come off as artificial - perhaps a little too subdued, but that's another issue entirely - and besides, the malt bill is able to successfully carry most of the workload, which works out fine for me. As for the salt, its contribution is minor at best, but it's still nice that it's there. I don't consume a lot of light beer, but if you do then this is one that's worth checking out.

Pours light straw colour with absolutely no head to speak of. Smell is grains and whiffs of lime. I do taste the lime and the sea salt both in moderation. I usually don’t enjoy beers with salt or goses but I actually do enjoy this one. This is a very good Mexican style Beer. Refreshing on a hot day.
