Pint at The Only, seemed like an unique pint to give a whirl, not every day you see a pale ale with coconut. Arrives a nice light golden hue, couple fingers of head leaves some light lace.
Nose is grassy with hints of citrus, just a faint whiff of meaty coconut. Taste reveals much more coconut, getting some of the sweeter coconut meat and milk and well as a more toasted coconut note that has a bit of huskiness to it - really authentic flavor notes. Interesting mix with the lightly citrusy, floral and grassy hop notes, not sure it entirely works together but interesting. Low to moderate hop bite in the finish, creamy mouthfeel with quite a bit of jam in the carbonation. Quite a unique offering for Railway City and it is probably one of their better ones. It's not amazing but I enjoyed the pint.

500 mL bottle, chilled and poured into a weizen glass.
Best before date: July.18.2011
*I have a few of these if anyone would be interested in a trade, unlike the Roundhaus Pils these will not be made again*
Appearance- A typical wheat beer technique to pour the beer, poured a golden hazy straw colour with a finger of soapy white head that quickly resides to a nice ring around the glass leaving little to no lacing throughout the glass till finish.
Smell- Very very sweet on the nose with that usual railway city fruitiness to it that is present in all of their brews. Among the sweet concoction I do get the coconut smell in there, which is nice but not overpower in any way, not much of a typical wheat beer on the aromas though.
Taste- The taste is really where the coconuts come through in this one, again paired with that typical railway city fruitiness on the palate as well. You do get a slight hint in the taste that this is a wheat beer with a bit of bready malt flavours although there is almost no spice presence just sweet fruit flavours and coconuts that is strong at first and then fades.
Mouthfeel- Light to medium bodied with average carbonation, smooth and crisp it goes down very easy with an average ABV.
Overall- A great summer drinking beer and the palm trees and coconuts on the label definitely suggest that as well, I drank this one on the patio on a nice summer evening and I could do that all night long. A great beer and the seasonal offerings from Railway City just keep getting better and better. I was told that they actually got in touch with the Kona Brewing Co. on how to incorporate the coconuts into the beer, and damn did it ever work out, you can definitely taste the coconuts although not overpowering. Wish this was not a seasonal and sold out for that matter as I would drink this all summer long.
