Good starting head but it dissipates to only rim bubbles and leaves no lace on the glass. The liquid is clear and dirty copper colored.

Toasted bread notes up front. There's some strong raw barley malt (like a bag of brewing grain) notes. Lightly sweet with only a hint of hop.

Malt base with a strong earthy hop finish. The body is solid for a session beer. Above average carbonation. The malt lasts throughout the tasting--the hop comes along slowly and creates a pleasant blend in the swallow. Overall, an easy to drink, but still full-flavored beer.

473ml can - not sure about the name here, it may be a reference to David Kirke, an early French colonizer of the New World (though working for the English, so once again, I dunno).

This beer pours a clear, medium copper amber colour, with three fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly ecru head, which leaves some decent mitochondrial pattern lace around the glass as it slowly sinks away.

It smells of bready and doughy caramel malt, applesauce, biscuity toffee, and some understated earthy, leafy, and floral noble hop bitters. The taste is semi-sweet, grainy and bready caramel malt, more biscuity toffee candy sweetness, some mixed red berry fruity esters, indistinct citrus rind, and more weak leafy, herbal, and floral verdant hoppiness.

The carbonation is fairly active in its palate-supporting frothiness, the body a so-so middleweight, and generally smooth, with nothing really causing any sort of trouble at this particular juncture. It finishes off-dry, the malt and fruit notes exhibiting the most lingering fervour.

Overall - for such a low-test brew, this offering possesses an impressive amount of flavour, even if the hop bitterness isn't as prominent as they claim. Easy to put back, obviously, and something that does indeed remind me of drinking in English pubs back in the day.

No date on the can o may be too old...

Cloudy dark golden/light amber beer with a 1-inch white head.

Smell of caramel and dark fruits.

Caramel and hops in the mouth, nothing impressive.

Like I said it may be old so maybe fresh it's better.

This light beer have a less bitter taste than other bitter beer. You can feel the bitterness out of it but the AB of 3.8 % make it more drinkable than other IPA and strong beer.

The smell remind me the tea King Cole. The nice orange color is attractive and give the glass a nice appearence.

This one is in the middle of my tasting chart.

A - Served from the can in a tulip glass. The color is very beautiful, amber to brown. The beer leaves a white head which is quite persistent.

S - Good smell for a light beer. The bitterness can already be noticed, but the general smell is fruitier than I expected.

T - Plenty of flavor! What a surprise for a light beer. I really appreciate the citrus and refreshing taste as well as the bitterness, more present at the end.

M - The carbonation is good, just right to my taste. In spite of the low alcohol, it doesn't feel very light.

O - For a light beer, it gives you plenty of flavor and the drinkability is excellent. I really enjoyed this Kirke. Moreover, this beer reminds me of some Bitters I tried during my journey in England so I like it even more for this reason! Anyway, I wish more light beers were like this one!

The beer color is copper, with a nice sticky head on top. Good looking for this light beer. It is slightly veiled. The aroma has an average intensity. Fruity with some citrus. Wow very inviting. This one should be very refreshing. The taste is excellent. Yes, it is a light beer, however with taste! A lot of things going on in the mouth. Some earthy notes with fruits. The finish is dry and BITTER. For a light beer, this one is excellent. I could session this all night.

Easy to drink. Refreshing. This is a very good light beer, one of the best I've drank so far. The only downside is the price. A little bit high for a light beer.

Cheers all!
