Poured a light brassy hue with a half finger wispy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.
The smell featured a distinct sour malt and grassy hop.
The taste was likewise sour with a light grainy malt and grassy hop.
The mouthfeel was initially defined by itchy sharp sour notes but eventually evened out.
Overall an interesting ale.

Bought this one from the Northport Farmer's Market today from Paul himself.
Was not sure what to expect as it is billed as a wild belgian mild ale - talk about a clash of styles!
It pours a cloudy opaque dirty orange body with streaks of gold and tangerine. No head at all, which is surprising as it appears quite carbonated. The nose is complex and difficult to pin down. At first, it smells like an acidic, tart lager. Lots of clove and spice, probably from the yeast, and also some lemon zest. Upon tasting, it has a very pale malt profile and no hop presence. Picking up some citric tartness and some spice reminiscent of a Narragansett lager. Finishes with a very complex apple cider bite. Definitely tasting the sour notes in this. Mouthfeel is thin but nice prickly carbonation. Was glad I tried this one but not sure I would seek it out again. That being said, I think it's a great attempt at a unique style that encompasses the whole gamut of tastes and techniques. Looking forward to opening the Hell Gate Golden Ale tomorrow.
