Pours a clear, bright golden coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of sweet tropical aromas of passion fruit and papaya. Taste is dominated by sweet and slightly acidic Curuba flavor, reminiscent of passion fruit and papaya, as well as mere hints of grassy hops, with no discernible malt flavor. Finishes with a medium sweetness, light acidity and some Curuba lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
Although this is made with 80% beer and 20% soft drink, the soft drink still completely dominates the flavor profile here with its sweet and slightly acidic tropical Curuba taste and not much discernible malt and hop flavor. Still, it does what it's supposed to, I guess, while not being quite too sugary sweet either, with a light acidity. Pretty refreshing and with an interesting tropical flavor reminiscent of passion fruit and papaya.

Brauerei C. & A. Veltins “ Veltins V+ Curuba”
,5L can coded “MINDESTENS HALTBAR BIS: 01.09.22. 8 23 11:55 750”. Sampled on 28.09.21

Notes: I bought this expecting it to be a competitor for Desperados which seems so popular in Deutschland for some reason but it’s not that at all. It is labeled as Curuba with Tequila-flavour but I don’t find any tequila to it at all. It’s 80% beer but the 20% “mixed drink” overwhelms it. It’s sweet, a little acidic, and taste like orange and banana. It’s clear golden beneath a short head of bright white and looks like a beer, but that’s where the “beer” in this beer stops. It’s like soda pop, and I’m pretty surprised that it’s 5.0% ABV. It’s certainly not the worst thing I’ve ever tasted, and not even the worst beer I’ve taste (far from!), but it is for children.

Can of 500 ml, at home. I had to google in order to learn what the hell a curuba is. Turns out is a sort of banana. Anyway, this is made of 80% beer and 20% curuba flavoured soft drink. I crack the can open and..
Two fingers of white, froathy head that was quickly gone. Colour is bright yellow, but you could see some green in it when hold against the light. Minimal activity in the glass. Aroma is very sweet and fruity, as expected. So, that's how a curuba smells!
Taste is quite sour but leaves a sweet aftertaste and it feels very refreshing. Only 20% of the juice managed to cover all the beer taste. On the other hand, someone who buys this one doesn't/ shouldn't expect a beer taste, hence the high grade.
Overall, not bad at all for the summer.
