A:
Pours a hazy dirty straw color with a huge soapy pristine white head that airily settles from 3+ fingers to 2. Excellent retention; majestic soapy lacing.
S:
Very Belgian. Doughy citrus, baking spices, lemon zest, white pepper.
T:
Really tasty dry slap on the tongue. Lemongrass, earth, vague astringency, dry slightly herbal hops, slight tartness in the finish.
M:
Flat effervescent and dry. Light to medium bodied and incredibly drinkable.
O:
Excellent "light" beer.
This beer is a Saison as Saisons were meant to be (at least based on my understanding of farmhouse ales). It pours spectacularly, a sight to behold and in a similarly old world fashion had a strong yeasty nose. Contrary to the yeast-laden and fruity aroma, the beer is a flatly bitter (nothing extreme) thirst quencher with a dry finish and slightly tart citric undercurrent.
Sure this isn't a barrel aged, Brett, framboise, whatever saison; but it is a solidly made, dry beer, with a low ABV.
Will have again; well worth checking out.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy dirty dark beige color ale with a large foamy head with great retention and some good lacing. Aroma of rustic malt with peppery and spicy notes is quite enjoyable. Taste is also dominated by rustic malt with some peppery and spicy yeast and a dry finish. Body is quite full with great carbonation. Great level of complexity while retaining some good drinkability and keeping the ABV at a moderate level.
