Excellent head production and very good retention. Body is very black, much more of a porter than a brown ale by appearance.
Smooth nose, with crisp hops imparting a bit of orange and pine contrasting against the malty background and added coconut and cacao. Very lightly roasty.
Very thick and chewy on the palate. Sweet and rich. Coconut, brown sugar, molasses, cacao, pine, candied orange, espresso. The coconut builds on the second half, but is entirely complementary. Similar to the nose, only light roast notes, along with toast and toffee.
