On tap at Bootlegger’s Brewery in Fullerton, CA.

Pours a clear light yellow with an off-white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of grain, malt, and some slight grass and hay aromas. Taste is much the same with a slight bitterness with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good but basic beer that is apparently a stab at the Mexican lager category.

Growler filled from the source, it is the first lager brewed by the Bootleggers, I asked Patricia about the ABV and was told it is around 5%, kool.

This is definitely an American adjunct lager, it looks like one and smells like one. The look was a bit cloudy, and smelled grainy.

It drinks really easily, a typical lager that is refreshing and sessionable without that nasty aftertaste found in the BMC varieties. I detected grainy flavor, and not much else.

This is an American adjunct lager through and through, but I really enjoyed it for some reason. Bootleggers is one of my favorite breweries in North county OC along with the Bruery.. This is another winner from Bootleggers, salut!!

On-tap at Bootlegger's

A: The beer pours a clear golden straw color with a short lived white head.

S: A light aroma overall. Some hints of bready malt but a fair amount of adjuncts. Smells like corn, but not one hundred percent sure. Light grassy and floral hop notes to the beer.

T: Sweet adjuncts up front with a mild bread and grain flavor. I seem to pick up a bit of a rice character to it as well. Some straw and grass flavors with a mild bitterness on the back end. Despite the sweetness, I get a drying feel on the finish.

M: The body is light and the carbonation is medium to high. Nice and refreshing, though.

O: Not much to this beer, but I thought it was pretty decent. Easy to drink, especially on a warm day.

Sampled 5/14/2011 at the brewery.

Pours clear golden yellow, no head, lacing, or retention, yet still carbonated.

Aroma is light and of malt, grass, and a bit of spiciness.

Flavor is very light, lemon, malt, grass, and a bit of rice. Medium bitterness. Good in the sense that it's not offensive in any way but not much flavor at all.

Body is very light, quite drinkable.
