Looks, feels and smells like a stout. Reminiscent of Maine Beer Co, though not as good. But still pretty nice. Ben & Nicks April 2016

This is a very strong but delicious IPA, you can even smell it the second you open the bottle. The liberation IPA from black market was amazing. This one might top it. The beer has a nice citrus flavor to it making it a very satisfying and drinkable beer. highly recommend this one

I had this at Villain's in downtown L.A. and it blew me away. I wanted an IPA but wasn't thrilled with Goose Island as a choice (not bad but not great) and the bartender suggested this. Wow!
Look is pitch black (but the bar was dark and it was after dark so that may have influenced me) with a small amount of dark tan head.
Smell is aromatic with a bit of the Pacific Northwest piney notes we expect from a very good IPA.
Taste, which is really what matters, was fantastic. Didn't have the charcoal taste that some black IPAs have. The very high alcohol content was smooth, much smoother than I expected. Balanced is the very best way to describe it.
Feel was excellent with a full body as it flowed across my tongue and down my throat.
I had two of them before leaving. I drank a fair measure of water when I got home but I still had a serious amount of cotton mouth the next morning. Those hops really parched my throat and mouth.
ENJOY!
