This is described as a "Triple black rye IPA." Very dark, near black color with a dark beige foam in the Mort Subite globe. Strong as it is there's no alcohol smell. Salty. Malty substance but just a hint of sweetness. So much Rye you can smell it when you exhale. Leafy hops.
Intense is the word. Deeply grainy with some charred flavors like a Stout. Spicy rye flavor is quite pronounced. It's even a touch sourish. Moderately bitter. Weird stuff and unique in my experience. An Imperial Rye with overdose of hops. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Barons Market in San Diego.
