BRUT IPA is a relatively new IPA style on the scene, defined by an extremely dry and light body, highly effervescent. Thought of as the Champagne of IPAs, hence the name Brut IPA. We brewed and dry hopped this Brut IPA with Equanot and Mosaic Hops. Spice and berry hop aroma.

Got in a BIF from KMitch. 32 ounce crowler into tulip glass, filled on 10/2/2018. Pours crystal clear medium golden/amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, green pepper, pine, cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, green pepper, pine, cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, green pepper, pine, cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.7%. Overall this is a fantastic Brut IPA. All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink forr the ABV with the moderately bitter/resinous/drying finish, not overly aggressive. Amazing Mosaic/Ekuanot showcase. Extremely vibrant, dank, and earthy balanced hop complexity; nice solid bready malt backbone, with no residual sweetness from crisp dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example.
