This Gordo combines the sweet flavors of Cognac maple syrup barrels and vanilla with a knock out punch of baking spices and cinnamon.

Appearance: Pours espresson colored with a one finger khaki head that fades to a swirl; spotty lacing streams down
Smell: Roasted malt, maple syrup, chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla; Cognac and some burnt tones
Taste: The sweeter tones of chocolate, vaniila and maple syrup jutt forward with cinnamon building; in the mid-palate the combination of burnt malt and Cognac emerges to overwhelm; there is some residual sweetness in the finish but the Cognac and burnt flavors domiate the finish
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation
Overall: I would put the concept of placing maple syrup in Cognac barrels and then using them to age an Imperial Stout as way out there in the extreme; it didn't really work for me but, judging from the Untappd ratings, others seem to have liked it
