Appearance: Pours fudge colored with a thin tan film that fades to a ringlet; a shower of lacing dribbles after each sip
Smell: Raspberry jam and cocoa powder; chalky with some roasted malt undertones
Taste: Raspberry jam forward bringing its sweet aspect first; the tart side of the fruit builds, through the middle; with the cocoa also appearing in the mid-palate; somewhat medicinal finish
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation
Overall: Too much fruit but not enough Stout character, this beer might have benefited from some time in the barrel; the finish is harsh, as well
