Pours amber with a large, white sudsy head.
Nose shows Belgian doughy yeast and related phenols. Also some sweet light malt and wheat. Quite light.
In the way of flavours sweet plain malt dominates with spicy notes and bready characters showing later. Doughy wheat and soft booze are also present.
Carbonation is a little full.
While not a great representation of the style this is quite enjoyable stuff.

This is their 2010 vintage saison which comes in a nice 750ml magnum and pours a murky light apricot hue with decent carbonation that leaves behind a very frothy two finger head that slowly resides to one finger and stays with a rim of lacing around the edge, the smell is a sweet, yeasty bread aroma mixed with ripe melons and some wine hints aswell, the mouthfeel is medium bodied, nicely carbonated, very sessionable but still allows the flavours to make themselves noticed and it starts with a big hit of lemon sherbet tartness, followed by some very yeasty bread, spices and finishes off with a watered down red wine(Rose) dryness on the palette, overall its not a bad drop without being very memorable but the one thing i do have to mention is that this 750ml bottle is nicely priced at $17.00 and you wouldnt feel ripped off if you purchased one as i wont have any trouble knocking this one down.

Had on tap at the brewery.

Golden colour, small white bubbly head, sinks slowly and leaves small specks of lace. Some carbonation, but why can I see it? Too clear! Really doesn't look like a saison. Are they filtering it into these kegs?

Nose is a lot better. Lots of tang and a bit of barnyard dirty funk. Lots of leather with a mandarin aroma as well, some grapefruity and a slightly salty edge. Some grain on there, but yeah, much funk. Pretty nice, really.

Taste is very Saisony. Tangy at first, with a hint of pineapple and gooseberry, then very funky with a healthy hit of barnyard flavour - soil and the sensation you get when walking through a camel enclosure. Hint of sherbet as well, and some sour vinous notes towards the back. Good, interesting palate. Nice refreshing tang and good complex profile.

Mouthfeel another letdown, I think possibly a side-effect of the lack of haze - for whatever reason that is, a bit thin, just lacks the chewiness I expect from a saison.

Good drinking overall though. If it had the murky sediment I expected this could have been something, Charlie. It could have been a contender.

a: This was a murky, dark, straw colored yellow. It poured with a massive, sticky, and rocky bone white head.

s: Musty, moderately funky yeast notes, plus some warm banana phenols in the backround.

t: Very dry overall. Prickly, almost biting yeastiness dominates. Traces of banana lurk underneath. The finish has a bit of something mineral.

m: Relatively short lived, fizzy carbonation and long, lingering dryness.

d: I hesitated to buy this because I assume it's from 2008. I'm glad I brought this very fine saison home.

a) With the glass bejewelled with CO2 bubbles, pours a pale orange, 1 inch dense head. Sparkly and attractive.
s) Spicy, pepper, green apple, fleshy yeast.
f) Zingy citrus, yeasty, light & sherbetty. Late perfume and herbal notes.
m) Prickly, liptingly, astringent & light
d) Refreshing & interesting

Cloudy amber in colour with a strong white head that persists.

Aromas of sour cheesy funk, sweet sulphides/mercaptan burnt rubber mixed with some tinned white fruits. A touch too offensive to be pleasant.

Palate has strong baked beans and tinned bean flavour that, whilst somewhat unpleasant, is followed up nicely with some raw/green hop flavours.

Mouthfeel is actually really, really good. The creamy texture is great and the balance is very good. Easily the best part of the brew. Give credit where due.

Great texture, bad flavour is this beers game. I see the style, but to me it seems more "forced ferment" than "farm house". The score may be less than impressive, but if they can get rid of the over riding baked bean/canned character and turn up the brett/wild funk then this beer will be much improved.

Will give next vintage a crack!

A - Poured from 750ml bottle into a tulip glass a hazy golden colour with a couple of centimetres of white fluffy head that slowly falls away.
S - Earthy yeast phenols, a bit of grain & biscuit maltiness & some light fruit touches.
T - The earthiness also comes through as well as a lot more winey fruit notes.
M - Light to medium bodied, a fairly highly carbonation and a crisp, dry finish.
D - A good representation of the style. I'll be buying this again.
