Pretty good one. Dark, bronze color. Thin, off-white head. Rye bread, yeasts, and dried fruits in the aroma. Not too sweet with semi-dry finish. Thirstquenching.

I purchased this can from my local Eastern European marketplace. It's a standard pour, with a little cloying sweetness. There’s better options out there.

A thanks to my comrade, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a brown plastic 1/2 liter bottle. Has a damn near black color with no head at all. Smell is mild, some bread. Taste is of light breads, sour, hints of vinegar. Feels medium/light bodied in the mouth and overall it's ok, but I have had much better versions of the style.

Boy, if I didn't catch enough flak during NBS Week 731, today's New Back to the Beer Future Sunday, Part 3, Mission II, (Week 761) is really gonna bring me down! I have solidly returned to a Sunday of Kvasses & while I CAN't be happier, many are unhappy with me as an Amerikanski. 8=(
From the Bottle: "Russian Marked for Quality" (from the Cyrillic).
This came in another wee 0.5-L plastic bottle & so I only poured half, resealed the cap & wrapped it with duct tape with the remainder going to @tone77 later this week. My pour created a nice effervescence that fizzed and popped, but eventually fell to wisps. 8=( Color was Dark Brown to Very Dark Brown (SRM = > 27, < 34) with garnet highlights & NE-quality clarity. Nose had the sweet & sour breadiness that is a hallmark of the style. This smelled like the real thing. Mouthfeel was thin & watery, characteristic of the style. The taste had an earthy medicinal quality, reminiscent of the time that I tried a spoonful of my grandparents' Geritol. It left me with a taste like I had been eating carob halvah. Hmm. These are definitely NOT common flavors for Amerikanskis, but for Russians, its herbal, grainy breadiness would fit their (often) hardscrabble lifestyle. Finish was semi-sweet, but definitely within spec for the style. I will be curious to see what @tone77 thinks.
