On tap at the brewpub. Pours a hazy dark-amber with a finger of creamy white head. Laces pretty well but the retention could be improved.
Not enough smell but pretty nice anyway. Soapy, tropical hops (pineapple, papaya), sweet caramel malt.
Cat-piss hops right up front, along with some litter box. Sounds terrible but it isn't coming off that badly. Sometimes hops taste like cat piss and these are them. Light soap and a bit of tropical fruit; some earthy hops and a hint of fresh mint leaves. Fairly well-balanced; not too sweet or bitter. Feels about 60-70 IBU. The flavour of the burps produced by this beer is oddly better-tasting than the beer itself. The alcohol is very well hidden. Decent DIPA if you don't mind cat-piss style hops, I guess.
Slightly prickly feel. Decent medium body and maybe a touch too much carbonation. I like DIPAs to have more of a syrupy feel than this, it could stand some more viscosity.
I wouldn't say this is sessionable, nor is it one of the better DIPAs I've had. The hop profile is a bit too weird to be completely enjoyable. I'm not having a problem finishing this glass but wouldn't want another. Aside from the flaws though, it's not too bad.
