Broue Pub Brouhaha "Choco-Framboise"
on tap at the brewery
Notes: Listed at 8.0% ABV. "Stout Framboise-Menthe". Brown-Black body beneath a short head of tan. Average lacing and retention. Aroma of roasted malt, raspberry, and dark chocolate. The raspberry comes alive in the flavor! Not very bitter at all. Chocolate with a touch of mint in the finish. The alcohol never shows. Very interesting, and highly drinkable.

Pours black with a reddish tinge, thin topping. Roast and raspberry aroma, wafting raspberry aroma. A little thin. A fruity raspberry tartness that builds up with sugar and peppermint. Trying to be not too sweet nor bitter nor sour. Satisfying none by trying to satisfy all parties.

My 100th beer added!
Sampled this at Bières & Saveurs in Chambly.
Sounded promising but alas it was not to be.
Looks like a stout with decent lacing and an opaque color. Smell is tangy raspberries but light mint and no chocolate or malt(!). Flavor is raspberries sure but no chocolate or mint is discernible. This does not taste like a stout. Body is too thin and there is no malt backbone to give it a hearty boost. Where is the malty flavor? Not a fruit beer but not a stout. It's a mess and resembles nothing of what it advertises. Pass on this please.
