Had a couple of pints at the brewery along with fish and chips. Pours a dense dark brown color with light only coming through at the bottom of the glass. Medium size off-white head with decent retention, Filmy lacing on the glass. Aroma is mild maltiness with some spicy aspects. Taste is roasted malt and rye sourness that comes through in the taste but not necessarily the aroma. Some spiciness as well, not just a smooth malty beer. I really enjoyed them!!!! Mouthfeel is rich enough, not dense but not watery either. The touch of spiciness and the sourness from the rye add to the "feel". A bit strong for a session beer, but I could see someone drinking several of these on a warm day. Nice job on a style you don't see that often!!
