These guys specialize in making mediocre, cookie cutter beer, but in this, they've hit somthing of a homerun. If they made more beer like this, perhaps someone might start taking them seriously.
Out of a firkin at the Pratt Street Alehouse real ale festival.
The beer pours a hazy dark gold color with fair head retntion and lacing. However, on the nose, I was immediately impressed. I got a lovely intermix of walnuts, butter and honey, which is quite intriguing. Flavors replicate the nose, though I don't think this beer tastes quite as good as it smells. On the other hand, there is some nice underlying hoppy bitterness that is quite nice, and counters the moderate sweetness quite well. Mouthfeel is fairly full, and the alcohol is well disguised.
This is a very solid beer, and is good enough that I might try to order some of their beer from time to time. Hopefully this is not just a flash in the pan for these guys.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
