It's a Hell beer with a darker palate than most. You could say it's on the lager-y side of Hell beers, but really it has a palate that's has some stout-like elements as well. That said, it does remain light and it doesn't feel like you're drinking a pot roast at all. Very smooth and full bodied mouthfeel - this is definitely the best part of the beer.

Bottle purchased in Germany. Pours clear, straw yellow in color with 1/2 inch head. Taste is straw and grassy hops. Light bodied, sweet, with medium-high carbonation. Great tasting light German lager. Could do several

Clear, light yellow beer with a silky, white head that leave lacing on the glass.
Nose: Citrus, malt and apricot.
Taste: Herbs, pilsner malt and a little bit of hops.
Mouth: Light body with a silk, smooth feeling. A little bit waterish as all German Pilsners tends to be. Refreshing.
A nice German Pilsner, easy drinking!

A: Pale straw with excellent strings of bubbles. Soft white head.
S: Pilsner graininess and maybe soft lemon.
T: Slightly herbal. Has a pronounced stocky/brothy graininess. Not metallic at all though. Medium sweet by Pilsner standards, and has a nice refreshing lemony quality in the finish. At points I even get a biscuit flavour. The finish also has a hoppy resinous quality which reminds me of loose leaf Darjeeling tea.
M: Very light and silky.
O: I don’t usually rate to style because I believe not all styles are created equal, but I’m beginning to nurture a deep appreciation for good pale lagers and I think this deserves a high rating.
