Can. Near black with brown small head and lace. Chocolate cocoa aroma with a hint of smoke. Medium-heavy sweetness per style with some fig and bitter earthy herbal finish with some lingering wood and smoke. Full body and rich for style. Excellent.

On tap at Lawson's Finest Liquids in Waitsfield, VT.
This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells just very lightly smoky, with roasted malt, and dark chocolate.
This is super straightforward, but well done - with just the slightest hint of smokiness, and lots of clean and pleasant roast character, and a good bit of dark chocolate as well.
This is medium bodied, creamy, and rich, with much more flavor than the lower ABV would suggest. I could easily have a few of these.
This sort of thing is very much up my alley these days, and it's done real well.

Shared can at regional tasting. Black colour, tan head. Nice roasty aroma and flavour. Coffee notes, dry. Hints of smoke. Decent enough porter, might well sample again.

Pours a deep brown color with a tall tan colored head that fades slowly and laces the glass nicely on the way down. Deep roasted malts are forward in the aroma with a hint of hops in there. Coffee, chocolate, roasted malts are the main aromas. The taste matched the aroma with big bold coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt flavors balanced together for an excellent porter. Bold, a bit lighter than it looks, perfect amount of carbonation, excellent overall beer!

Pours very nice, fluffy dense initial light brown head on a very dark brown cheer. Decent lacing and nice thin layer of head that remains almost there whole time I drank down.
The aroma is mostly burnt chocolate, I say burnt in this case because it’s roasty to an extra degree. There is also a subtle dark fruit which to me is coming off as a raspberry/blackberry way. This may sound weird but it also has a chalkiness to it too, if dry has a smell that’s what I’ll call it.
The taste is very close to the aroma. Though it is chocolate most notably first, then comes the sweet dark fruit and at the end you get a nice burnt note.
The mouthfeel is great as well, I’m not sure I’d call it light. It’s drinks more close to medium body which is surprising given the abv. It has a dry finish and a medium bitterness with a long lingering roast/burnt aftertaste.
Overall this is a very pleasant drinking Porter that leans heavily in the roast.

I had a 16oz serving of this at Lawson's on 18MAY21 during a visit with Alewife. Cost was $7.00.
It was jet black and opaque, with a fine, thin, creamy tan head, plus OK lacing. Nose was roasty, with caramel and toffee, plus charred malts. Body was a bit less than medium, and it had light prickle on the tongue.
Taste was quite roasty and dry. Had caramel and toffee again, and dark choco. Flavor had a subtle smoky aspect to it, and a hint of florality in the finish. Decent but not my fave.... Cheers!

Black in color with no light penetration. There’s a half inch of creamy beige on top. Heavy lacing. The aroma is of dark, smoked malt. I’m tasting dark, smoky roasted barley. The mouth is silky smooth and creamy as it was a nitrogen pour on draft.

L — Pours a surprisingly black body for the fairly low ABV with three fingers of tan head produced with moderate pour. Good retention and great lacing
S — Smoke, ash, nutty coffee, bakers chocolate, dusty barn
T — Smoke, roasted barley, hazelnut, campfire ash, hint of toffee
F — Medium- mouthfeel, medium carb. Somewhat watery around the edges, but overall quite nice
O — So cool that Lawson’s is still using the original sugarhouse brewery for these small batch offerings.

On tap at the brewery.
Poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a nice looking dark brown close to black color capped by a small off white foamy head. Dissipation was quaint and nice. Not much lace.
The aroma had sweet to roasty characters of milk chocolate, caramel, vanilla wafer, and ending with a touch of smoke.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet side rolling into each other for a nice blend. Once again, the smoke is very faint. Aftertaste was milk chocolate and vanilla wafer.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Good carbonation and ABV. Mostly a smooth sly toasty sort of finish.
Overall, I liked it for me but there's barely any smoke in this.
