Out of a tap on St. Patrick's day for their anniversary party this beer was a murky garnet/maple color with one-finger of khaki-colored head. The retention was ok as a collar and the lacing potty. The aroma was on the lighter side, toasted and caramel malt with a little hoppy bitterness, some roots and bark and an earthiness of wet soil. The flavors were odd, smoked meat, lots of earth, hints of earth and leather with some bitterness. Though the dry-hopping came through in the leafy/green finish it lacked a sweet component. Sessionable but misbalanced. The mouthfeel was watery, the body medium/light and the carbonation light - it went flat after a while.
