Bottle shared by Dan. Bottle 36 out of 146 I believe.

Pours a hazy dark amber-brown color with a one-finger white head. The head recedes into a wispy layer on top leaving decent lacing.

Smells of bruised bananas with good amounts of medium malts and hints of spices.

Tastes similar to how it smells. Medium malt flavors with hints of wheat twang kick things off and are joined quickly by sweet banana flavors and hints of pear flavors. Midway through the sip the sweetness from the fruits fades a bit as the malt flavors turn toward the grainy side. Finally, hints of spices make a brief appearance before fading out into a crisp ending.

Mouthfeel is very good. It's got a smooth thickness with soft carbonation.

Drinkability is good. I finished my glass without a problem and could have another.

Overall I thought this was a well done beer for the style. The flavors didn't meld quite well enough to knock it out of the park but I certainly recommend giving it a shot, especially if you're a fan of the style.

22 oz bottle poured to pint.

A: Caramel brown, really active, millions of bubbles in glass with BIG head.

S: Fruity, yeasty, and malty. Some spice with a slightest bit of hop presence.

T: A little fruity like a weiss. Really nice and smooth banana and clove. Some bready flavors.

M: Medium body, highly carbonated.

D: Really enjoyable and drinkable. I would imagine this is great during the summer. My only bottle so I won't know

Pretty good stuff here. A HUGE head and ridiculous retention. Cloudy orangish caramel brown. Light carbonation activity. A very funky fruitiness with a bit of clove. A light wheat and faint banana as it warms. Taste is spicy with a raisiny sweetness and a touch of bubblegum. A somewhat lactic sourness flows through with a fairly sharp metallic bitterness in the finish. It lingers. Wheat malt is there but subdued. Bubblegum seems to get bigger as I go. Banana too but still quite subdued. A crisp carbonation and light feel. Pretty drinkable but the metallic edge is just a bit too much. Reign that in and this one get an half point more for the third and fifth categories. It does seem to smooth out as it warms so that could also be a thing to keep in mind for this one. Not bad though. Maybe this bottle is just a touch old but the finish could use a little taming to take it to the next level. Another brew courtesy of The Rowan. Thanks much bro.

Had on tap at American Flatbread.

Pours a deep ruby with a very thin dark brown head. Nose is sweet, wheaty and a bit funky.

Taste is sharp, wheaty and a little sour with a solid and a nice amount of wheat backbone. It's an awesome dark flavorful and different wheat beer. I'm a fan.
