On tap at brewery:
Pours a medium deep violet with a foamy head that ends in bubbly frothiness, thick around the rim. There are some spots of lacing.
Nose has a base gose profile, some salinity and a bit of earthiness. Along with this is a plum and dark berry fruitiness. Taste has the fruitiness more pronounced, but it is countered by earth tones.
Herbal notes and a somewhat tannic taste/feel that I’d expect from a foeder - interesting but not what I’m expecting from a gose. In fact, I’m not getting much tartness at all. There is a little bit of salinity and a moderately soft feel, but the little tartness I perceive is trumped by other notes.
I like the beer despite my perception that it went off-roading from the gose trail.
