Half bottle at Novare Res. Near black pour, small bubbly beige head. Maple in the aroma, with light chocolaty notes. Brandy creeps into taste adding some warmth and strength, sweet, roasty malts. Light chocolate. Smooth.

On tap at Lawson's Finest Liquids in Waitsfield, VT.
This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells like clean roast, dark coffee, earthy maple, spiced apple pie, and dark chocolate.
Pastry stout aficionados might not get a lot out of this one, but I'm enjoying it. The maple is done well here - not too strong, and doesn't add much overt sweetness. The barrel provides oak and vanilla, and a nice spice character that reminds me of apple pie. There's lots of roast and dark chocolate as well.
This is creamy, and not too boozy at all, with a nice creamy finish.
This is definitely old school in execution, and in reality, as this keg was apparently from 2018. I certainly enjoy it.
