Notes:
Our new juicy and hazy IPA features a blend of Citra and Mandarina Bavaria to deliver a tropical medley of tangerine, clementine, and mandarin oranges. Hazy Rays is soft on the palate and incredibly quaffable!

16 oz. Can
PKG: 02 MAY 23
Poured into a Trillium glass a pretty nice hazy pale yellow color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger plus off-white head, which also leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, mango, guava, pineapple), pretty nice little diesel like. The taste is pretty nice, hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, mango, guava, pineapple), pretty nice little diesel like. Medium body, ABV is hidden very well. Overall, a pretty tasty beer. Addictive! MilkShake, Orange Juice!

Pours a very pale yellow. Thick foam
Not much of an aroma. Buttery hop body. Nice malt character. Light bitter finish. Mild fruit flavor. Much more complex than you would think. An odd and interestingly delicious beer.

Not the best that I’ve had from Lawson’s, but it’s good. Feels and looks a little thin. Not a whole lot of aroma. It really should, as others note, be labeled a session IPA. But if this brewery makes a poor-tasting beer, I have yet to encounter it. I’d take Night Shift’s Whirlpool over this one, but I’m glad I tried it and probably will again.

Hazy Rays
Lawson's Finest Liquids IPA New England / Hazy
Definitely session level vibe, easy, clean, light, thin and even watery. Mild citrus tang and herbal hop thing. In season for hikes, poolside, lake side, boat ride time. Flavor is muted, this is where some good 'ol fashioned bitter hoppy bite comes in.

Picked-up a four-pack of cans at Luke's in Plymouth for about fifteen dollars. My twentieth brew from these guys. Canned on date of 4/19/23. Miss for me, watered-down taste.

Excellent head production, retention, and lacing. Lemon-yellow hazy body, not pulpy like some in the style, but nonetheless nearly opaque.
Really expressive aroma, and quite delightful. Floral, juicy, and bright, with notes of ruby red grapefruit, lemon, papaya, white dough; very mild dankness.
Can't quite deliver on the palate, with a near-seltzer watery body - unsurprising, given the very low ABV. This isn't technically session territory, but it's pretty darn close, and for an IPA, is easily under the bar normally required. Flavor is quite good; it simply lacks the impact.
That said, if one considers this as essentially a session NE IPA, then it's quite good. The flavor profile itself, while lacking punch on the delivery, is quite nice, and the watery mouthfeel makes this one hell of a refreshing and crushable hop bomb perfectly suited for warm Summer days.
Taken as advertised, I can't say it fully delivers, as it's labeled as a Hazy IPA. If they had labeled it a Session IPA, or a hoppy APA, I think this would be a better fit rating to style. Still, it's very tasty.

Straw yellow in color with a hazy complexion. There’s a half inch of dishwater white on top. Moderate, soapy lacing on the glass. The aroma is of lemon and lime hops. I’m tasting faint lime and lemon hops. The mouth is very light and quaffable.

The can states that this is "1 PINT ALE"
From the bottom of the can: "PKG 12APR23 04:48:11"
Appearance: The body is a light yellow color and it appears very hazy. Very fuzzy and indecipherable shadows are visible through the more narrow parts of the glass. It has a short fluffy white head which has good retention. There are a few spots that form on the glass but no real lacing.
Aroma: There is a faint aroma of garlic and lemon. It is very difficult to pick up the aroma even when very close to the surface of the beer, but what is present is nice.
Taste: Up front there is a bit of honeydew melon and lemon flavor. Towards the middle of the mouth there is white pepper, some lemon, and what can only be described as ants. The flavors stay pretty much the same throughout drinking the beer and they don't change much. It tastes a bit like a watered down drink or water that has been lightly infused with fruit. After a while a light bit of grassy flavor also came through.
Mouthfeel: It feels light bodied with a slight bit of hop burn. No real bitterness which can be expected. It feels mostly alright on the palate but the light hop burn is a bit off-putting.
Overall: The beer is lacking in flavor and aroma. It feels drinkable but boring. The can states that this is an "IPA" and that it is "HAZY & JUICY." There is also an indication that this is "5.3% ALC. BY VOL." It has a lighter ABV, flavor, and aroma than many New England Style Pale Ales let alone IPAs. While it is drinkable I wouldn't recommend it or buy it again.

A-Pale yellow with a clean line of white head
S-Astringent sour aroma dominates any potential fruit fragrances
M-Very light body with medium carbonation and a dry mouthfeel
T-Acidic flavour with a modest bitterness
O-Not great. Was expecting more. This beer comes off as more of a saison than IPA. Disappointed.

Can purchased from Fattey Beer Co in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like melon, pineapple, orange, grassy and piney hops, and some lemon.
This is a really solid new IPA from Lawson’s. It’s a bit hazier and juicier, with less bitterness, than their usual hoppy palate, but its still got a refreshing and clean bitterness on the end that I really enjoy. There’s all sorts of juiciness up front.
This is lighter bodied, clean, crisp, and super drinkable.
It’s cool to see Lawson’s still developing new and successful beers for the market.

Poured from a 16oz can stamped PKG 11APR23 to a Nonic at fridge temp.
A light yellow medium-hazy body sets below a 1.5” white head that fades in 1-2 minutes to surface foam. Lacing is moderate throughout the session.
The aroma is bright with tangerine and similar tangy citrus.
The taste is also bright with tangerine, citrus rind, and strawberry. The finish is nice and dry with hop presence. There is no hint of alcohol at all.
The mouthfeel is light for a hazy beer and carbonation is on the heavy side during the finish.
This is a very drinkable beer. I really enjoyed it.

Seems like the reviews are mixed, but for what it is I have enjoyed it. On tap and canned. Lots of flavor for a lower ABV. Citrus and tropical fruits, bright aroma, fairly light body. Will be a nice option for the beach or other warm weather activities.

Really not bad from Lawson. Good foam head and medium carbonation. Nice and hoppy taste with tangerine and maybe strawberry. Crushable session brew with no alcohol presence. Dry aftertaste and mouthfeel. Well done!
