Deep purple with a violet foam, this tart treat is a touch sweet thanks to a hefty dose of elderberries. Kettle-souring and a light malt base provide a pleasant pucker that gives way to a clean, refreshingly fruity sip.

Head dissipates rapidly with no residual lace, giving a flat appearance. Not particularly sour. Thirst quenching , refreshing. Nice for a change of pace but generally, not my cup of tea.

Absolutely gorgeous pour--this beer is reddish-purple in the glass with the most delicately beautiful violet head. I had this on draft and it was served fairly cold. It struck me as a subtle, good-tasting sour that was neither overly tart or sweet. But take my advice--though it's a summer style beer, allow it to stand and bring the temperature up into the 50-55-degree range. Then the elderberry fruit flavor explodes, with a deep, luxurious fruity finish. Worth the wait.

Pours a lovely purplish color with red highlight. Initial frothy head fades quickly to no foam at all, zilch. No lacing to be had either. Aroma is okay, fruity but subtle. Taste wise, it's not very sour and only slightly sweet, I think the elderberry taste is a bit lacking, also, the beer lacks oomph due to the low carbonation. However, it's not a bad beer - I think it would also benefit from a higher carbonation level.

It’s not often you see elderberry used as an adjunct in beer, so it’s cool to see something unique like this. I actually haven’t had anything funky or sour from Lawson’s before so I’m interested to try this one. Let’s dive right in
Pours a clear deep red with 2 fingers of pinkish white head that fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
The nose is quite floral but not incredibly fruity. I’m picking up on aromas of coriander, lemon zest, crackery malt, grassy hops, white pepper, light elderberry, and orange juice
It’s more fruit forward in taste and has a great tartness. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting elderberry, tart raspberry, lemon juice, crackery malt, wet hay, sea salt, coriander, and light honey. The swallow brings notes of elderberry, bready malt, floral hops, coriander, orange juice, lemon zest, light honey, and tart raspberry
A light medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a crisp beer. Finishes bone dry and refreshing
This one is pretty damn good. Quite basic but great for what it is

this is definitely outside of the norm for these guys, who i know for epic ipa types and really special dark stuff, but here we have a glorious gose, a totally new side of this incredible brewery to me, and im here for it! a splendid pink color of medium saturation from the tap and a short but airy white head and persistent carbonation is visible even after the head dies back, real pretty color. the aroma is tangy but not as astringent and medicinal and sharp as elderberry can sometimes be, yet it still captures the essence of this enigmatic fruit, red wine grapey, black currant tart, a little jammy, and with just a bit of wheat malt coming through the fruit and the clean acidity. the flavor is mouthwatering too, the lactic pucker here is tidy but pronounced, and i think that draws out a lot of character from the elderberries, a good recipe decision, some lemon character in it, and with the salt, i think a great way to highlight the fruit, although the salt element is relatively mild for the style. it makes sense for this to be as dry as it is, super fast and refreshing for a sour, gone on the swallow, and the minimal nature of the rest of this and its quickness allow this distinctive fruit to really come through authentically. it has an almost gritty tannic presence, tons of mineral character from the salt, and its distinctive on the ferment despite being so polished. really expert execution here in a style i did not expect from lawsons. i think elderberry lends itself well to a gose, and they nailed this. quite sour, but still real drinkable too. lovely beer.

This is very obviously a refreshing gose with an elderberry finish. The elderberry is subtle and definitely does not make you think you are having an immune booster gummy. It is the anti IPA that is very light, a little sour, and ends with subtle fruit.
