This festive offering is inspired by the lagers served at Munich’s Oktoberfest. Toasty, biscuit notes from German malts are complemented by the earthy, floral tones of noble hops, making this a Prost-worthy pint with a finish as crisp as the Vermont air.

Pours a nice 2 finger head which never dissipates. Not much going on the nose and the beer is cloudy but more straw colored than copper. Smooth taste with some butternut squash and caramel shining through. Very easy to drink although a bit overly carbonated. An excellent stab at the German style!

Pours an orange tinted golden body with a white head that settles slowly into a cap. Aromas of toasty malt, bready yeast, caramel malts, and honey. Taste features doughy bread, caramel malts, acorn, toast, and hint of fall leaves in hops. Feel of malt and yeast combine for full and toasty, clean. The starring yeast is soft and full yet stays light on the palate. The wife loved it

pint can to typical pint glass.
L: clear golden yellow. Small bubble light carbonation rising. 2ish finger pure white head which dissipates in a minute or two to just a thin layer.
S: Aroma is sweet. Honey. A little raw dough and a little herbaceous.
T: Sweet notes as expected with a festbier. Some bread, balanced malt. Ends with somewhat floral notes, very crisp. Primarily sweet & bread-y but not sappy or overly sweet.
F: medium bodied. Not heavy. Crisp and clean touch of hops. Medium-light carbonation.
O: good festbier. Drinks very easily while balancing/maintaining the sweet/bready festbier notes with crisp and “fresh” feeling.

Poured from a pint can into a stein. Thin white head over an amber colored body of beer. Nice effervescence but little lacing. Pleasant aroma, slightly sweet. The first sip is full of malty goodness, with enough hops bitterness to clear the palate. An enjoyable Fall flavored beer!

On tap at River Road Tavern with friends. Golden orange color with a frothy white head that persists. Rich bready crackery maltiness with earthy floral hops to counter. Nice Marzen

Clear, deep golden color. Big, white head. Malt, biscuits, herbs, and toasted bread in the aroma. Moderately sweet, balanced taste with mild hoppy bitterness.

Can dated 8/15:
A medium amber /copper body that is near clear - maybe a little chill haze. The white head builds easily but falls almost as easily - a broken film of bubbles remains after a minute in the glass. The nose has a lightly toasted medium grain bread as a backbone, upon which some honey mixed with a sprinkle light brown sugar brings the sweetness, and lightly earthy fall baking spice and dry grass brings the counter.
Taste follows pretty closely, with a semi-sweet malt with edges of melanoidin opens, yielding to a bit of spice in the mid-palate and a neutral to slightly earthy bitterness near the end. The finish brings back some caramelized grain notes - that melanoidin I talked about. It pairs with some floral or maybe grassy notes that keep the finish from having a lingering sweetness.

Not sure what it is about The Lawson’s brews…but there is something “off” and they sample “thinner”‘than what I’d expect - from such an awesome packaging brand & locale. This one, was no different. It looks the part: fresh can/nice color/head retention… smell is subdued honey/malts. At 5.3%abv this one drinks thinner than it smells. It’s good; not great. Cheers!

Pours light amber with a one-finger white head that quickly dissipates to a coating.
Straight off the pour I get aromas of lemon zest and white bread. This moderates to floral hops over a malt base.
At the start of the sip there is a blend of malt sweetness: honey, caramel, and toffee. This sits atop slightly toasted white bread and soft pretzel. The middle is where this beer comes alive, though. First, biscuit and bread dough come to the fore along with floral hops and moderating hop bitterness, and then all the flavors blend together through the finish with floral hops taking the lead through the aftertaste.
Medium-light bodied with moderate carb that tickles the palate throughout, just avoiding the first prickling of a carb bite. Finishes nice and dry.
Overall, this is a hit for me. Some big malt notes moderated by floral hops with superb drinkability. Blends some of the best of the Marzen and Fest Bier styles.

From the pint can, it pours a clear amber color with a nice white head that diminishes to a nice ring. The nose gets a nice malty scent. The mouth follows with the same - very easy to enjoy this brew!
