The cascading action is nice and sparkly gold in this blond beer. Two inches of creamy almond head caps the clear amber below. The head holds for the duration, leaving an unbroken curtain of lace for several minutes before it breaks into spots on a Harp nonic.
The aroma is very subtle with spicy hops and maple syrup. The effect is as pleasant as it is mild.
The flavor is malt forward with hops balancing. Shortly following the first sip, sweetness is initially forward, with bitterness balancing. The flavor is more like bread dough than crackers, with a light, floral sensation as it warms. The finish is long and moderate, bringing bitterness into focus.
It has a medium to full body and the texture of felt. Alcohol is lighter than expected, while coarse carbonation leaves a prickling on the palate.
I really enjoyed this red ale, as it was easy drinking and well suited to unwinding after a long day. It would also work well with casual conversation and could easily be a go to beer for after work. Today I found that it pairs nicely with an intense, firm Cashel Bleu Cheese with notes of caraway.

Pours a deep amber with a light, creamy white head. Sweet caramel candy aroma. Has a sweet caramel flavor, nice malt flavor too. Creamy texture. Overall a really good amber ale.

Pours a clear amber. Creamy foam. Faint malt aroma. Maple and brown sugar body. Lightly sweet clean finish. Silky smooth. Very drinkable. A great fall beer.
