Arrives, for all intents and purposes, black. Small, cocoa tan head lingers for quite a while but eventually disappears completely and leaves no lace at all.
Smell is rich with malt, nuts, licorice, and cinnamon. A great balancing act.
Taste is toasted malts, baking chocolate, coffee, licorice and cinnamon though the last two fainter than the others, supporting players.
Almost full bodied, light effervescence, slightly drying and mildly warming.
I love a nitro stout, haven't met one I didn't like yet. This is a fine brew and made even better than the cask, IMO, with the nitrogen. Creamy and fairly smooth. More please.
