Reviewed from notes. Poured from 32 oz. Cigar City growler into a Tampa Bay Brewing Company pint glass.
A: Pours a dark hazy gold, with a thin white foamy head and medium visible carbonation.
S: White oak sweetness, vanilla, biscuit malts, tropical and citrus hops, and a touch of caramel. I don't really know what dragon fruit smells like - that might be here too. A nice, albeit not huge, aroma.
T: Unsurprisingly, the flavors are that of White Oak Jai Alai (oak, vanilla, citrus and tropical fruits, and bready and toffee malts) but with a fleshy dragon fruit and more tropical flavors near the swallow and on the exhale. The finish is lingering tropical fruitiness with sweet oak and hop bitterness.
M: Medium body, alcohol well-hidden. Carbonation sensation towards the low side, but far from flat.
O: This was pretty good. I think it was a bit of an improvement over the base White Oak - it added a complimentary sweetness. Glad I got to try it.
