Cellared bottle from Dec 2013
A: Pours a jet black with a nice khaki head. Dark as night as one would expect.
S: Very complex, with the smoked malt dominant. The cedar is very recognizable and plays well with a thick molasses sweetness. Definite notes of chocolate, some dark fruits. But very strong smoky aroma throughout.
T: A bit of sweetness on the front end with smoked malt throughout and a sharp bitter edge on the back end that doesn't linger. The cedar is well pronounced but doesn't meld as well as in the nose. Chocolate roastiness and richness is very nice.
MF: The age has smoothed this beer incredibly well. Rich and creamy in the mouth. Goes down incredibly well with no hint of alcohol at all.
O: Excellent beer, love the smoky character, definite cigar-like character to this one which makes this beer unique. I love the use of the cedar but it stands out a bit too much for me.

Decent viscosity with a near black cola like color. It has a Smokey meat and beef jerky nose with a dry chocolate malt and hints of sorghum in the aroma.

The flavor gives off a cedar wood smokiness, a much lighter smoked meat taste, some toffee and a molasses sweetness. It is dry in flavor and on the palate but it isn't too rich.

The Humidor Series isn't my favorite but I do like a Rauschbier so this seemed to work for me.
