L - Pours an opaque pink/brown body with a one finger light brown head.
S - Lacto, sweet cherries and malts. May'be some red wine characteristics mixed in.
T - Mild tart cherries, sweet malts and obviously lacto. Funk comes on midway through followed by a lemon pop at the ending.
F - Heavier body than a style like this would normally have. I'd say medium to full bodied with medium carbonation. It has a dry finish.
O - A pretty enjoyable beer that pleasantly surprised me.

Poured from a 22oz bomber into a cigar city snifter. Acquired in a trade.
Pours a lightly hazy dark amber body with cherry highlights, especially when in the sun. Head is minimal and white, reduces fairly quickly to leave no lacing or retention.
Aromas of sweet cherry, red wine, kettle fermented lacto bacteria, sweet caramel, definitely a solid malt backbone, very fruit-gose like, a little mineral in there.
Allowed to warm up to room temperature while drinking over 45 minutes. Pretty sweet upfront with black cherry, a mild acidic sourness on the follow through, caramel / butterscotch malt flavors, finishes with wheat and bubblegum, definite Belgian yeast characteristics.
Mouthfeel is a little heavier than the normal American wild, not as crisp and refreshing as some, there's a definite malt presence here. This is more of a Flanders red in my opinion. Very similar to Rodenbach Red.
Overall quite enjoyable but I was expecting a little more. Given that this is kettle soured not traditionally soured, and that it wasn't aged in oak, it's good.

Reviewed from long-standing notes. Had from a cask at the Cigar City tasting room. Served in a tulip glass.
A: Pinkish brown, very hazy to almost opaque. Creamy white head with good retention. Almost still after it settles down from the pour.
S: Low overall - tart cherries, lactic acid and lemons, a touch of sweet malt and fruit A bit funky as well.
T: Dry tart cherries, lactic and citric acid, and a bit of malt sweetness in the middle. Lactobacillus dryness and some grassy, earthy funk. Finishes very dry with lingering cherry lemonade flavor.
M: Fairly rich body and low carbonation (cask serving). The alcohol content is hidden well.
O: I thought this was really enjoyable - not crazy tart or acidic, and the cherries didn't come across as candied. Very drinkable.

Definitely a "lacto bomb" with its intensely sour cherry notes, but very little going on in terms of actual flavor beyond that. A bit of medicine on the aftertaste.
