Among all the goings-on at the annual Great American Beer Festival in Denver, our favorite has always been the Pro-Am competition. It’s an opportunity for professional brewers to work with an active member of the American Hombrewers Association to make an amateur brewer’s dream a reality by brewing their recipe on a commercial scale. At Cigar City, we use the Best Florida Beer Competition’s Homebrew Contest as our selection process and partner with the gold medal winner to brew our GABF Pro-Am entry. 2016’s BFBC Winner and Cigar City’s collaborative partner is Gregory Brown, a massively talented brewer who created the recipe for a high alcohol wheat wine that deftly blurs the lines between barleywine-style ale, wheat ale and high-alcohol hoppy beers.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
